The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) has named Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, CA, as a radiopharmaceutical therapy center of excellence.
The distinction is held by 17 U.S. centers, including Stanford Health Care; Harvard Medical School; and the University of California, San Francisco. It recognizes organizations that are contributing to nuclear medicine research and treatment, the hospital said.
The designation comes on the heels of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's March clearance of a prostate cancer therapy called Pluvicto; Hoag's molecular imaging and therapy program is the only one in its county to offer Pluvicto, according to the hospital.
Hoag offers molecular imaging and therapy clinical trials for a variety of cancer types, it said.
