International Isotopes posts Q3 dip

Radioisotope manufacturer International Isotopes of Idaho Falls, ID, reported sales of $829,000 in its fiscal 2005 third quarter, a downturn compared with the $985,000 in revenue posted in the comparable quarter one year ago.

For the period (end-September 30), the firm posted a net loss of $145,000, an increase compared with a posted net loss of $40,000 for the same period in fiscal 2004.

The drop in total revenue for the period was attributable solely to the timing of cobalt product sales in 2004 compared with 2005, according to the firm. International Isotopes also said that the increased fiscal third-quarter loss was primarily due to increased operational expenses related to the staffing and development of its new fluorine extraction process.
