GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., debuted new molecular imaging offerings at the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC) being held in Kyoto, Japan.
The company showcased Triumph II, a solid-state trimodality digital imaging system that features enhanced image quality and quantitative capabilities, a wider bore size to fit larger animals, higher PET sensitivity, and new SPECT collimators for improved resolution and sensitivity, GE said. It includes a proprietary 3D PET reconstruction algorithm, according to the firm.
GE is also highlighting eXplore speCZT/CT 120, an integrated SPECT/CT system with a full-ring solid-state detector for small animal SPECT, according to GE; it is combined with CT 120 for dual-modality imaging and fusion, and the system is equipped with GE's new SPECT/CT attenuation correction feature.
GE also introduced its TracerCenter for preclinical imaging, a package that combines site planning, cyclotrons, an infrastructure platform, and reagents to start up and run a preclinical imaging center. In addition, GE highlighted TracerLab FX N Pro, an enhanced version of TracerLab FX F-N, a generic platform for F-18 tracers for researchers. TracerLab FX N Pro will be available later this year.
The company also showcased an expanded FASTlab platform: In addition to the existing cassettes for F-18 FDG and F-18 sodium fluoride (NaF), GE plans to offer cassettes for F-18 fluorothymidine (FLT) and F-18 fluoromisonidazole (FMISO) in 2011, as well as an alternative FDG cassette that will use the TracerLab MX system synthesis method.
