Molecular breast imaging developer Dilon Diagnostics and GE Healthcare will present a breast biopsy localization tool for GE's Discovery NM750b molecular breast imaging system at the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) meeting being held this week in Austin, TX.
The accessory is pending 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It locates breast lesions in 3D using information taken from stereotactic pairs of 2D images, and is intended for interventional purposes such as biopsy, Dilon said.
