Philips Healthcare has chosen image reconstruction software developer Medic Vision Imaging Solutions' SafeCT-29 radiation dose reporting software to help its CT and PET/CT customers comply with the Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) Smart Dose standard, also known as XR-29.
SafeCT-29 is an add-on system that provides compliance with the XR-29 dose check and dose report functions for CT and PET/CT systems of all vendors and models, and it's the only third-party XR-29 solution that is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), according to Medic Vision.
Under the deal, Philips sales and service personnel will now recommend Medic Vision's SafeCT-29 to its customers with CT and PET/CT scanners that are noncompliant with XR-29 and for which Philips does not offer an update, Medic Vision said.
