Medical isotope firm Shine Medical Technologies and partners GE Healthcare and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB Prague) in the Czech Republic said they have produced patient dose quantities of the lutetium-177 (Lu-177) therapeutic isotope.
The milestone is a major step toward commercialization of Lu-177, according to Shine. The production lot passed GE's quality control testing and demonstrates that the IOCB technology is suitable for Lu-177 production, the company said.
