BWX Technologies (BWXT) subsidiary and medical isotope and radiopharmaceutical supplier BWXT Medical has formed a joint venture for the Asia-Pacific region with nuclear medicine and radiopharmacy firm Global Medical Solutions (GMS).
BWXT said it's currently setting up operations in North America for the irradiation of molybdenum and the manufacturing of technetium-99m (Tc-99m) generators. The new joint venture will replicate those operations in Asia, according to the companies.
Under the agreement, any physical operations will be owned by GMS subsidiaries. Dependent on certain factors, that investment will begin in 2023, according to the firms.
