The Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province in China has authorized Eckert & Ziegler subsidiary Qi Kang Medical Technology to construct a radioisotope production facility in Jintan.
The facility will consist of clean rooms for sealed and non-sealed radioactive material, laboratories for quality control and microbiology, and a cyclotron with a maximum proton energy of 30 MeV. It will meet growing demands for medical radioisotopes such as yttrium-90, lutetium-177, and gallium-68 in China and globally, according to Qi Kang Medical Technology.
