Hitachi Medical Systems America has shipped its 1,000th MR system within the U.S. The 1,000th scanner, an Airis II open MRI unit, was delivered to HealthSouth, which is deploying the system for its new MRI center in Gadsden, AL. Of the 1,000 U.S. Hitachi shipments, more than 98% are still in operation, according to the Twinsburg, OH-based vendor.
