MRI developer Magna-Lab of Lynnfield, MA, has entered into a clinical study agreement with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. The study will compare the image quality obtained with the vendor’s transesophageal (TE) MR coil to the image quality obtained through traditional MRI and other methods of cardiac imaging.
The investigators will assess the diagnostic value of the TE coil in the evaluation of valve pathology, atria, and appendages, the great vessels of the heart, and structures close to the esophagus. The results of the study will be analyzed for signal noise, contrast noise, and diagnostic information.
