Medrad introduces MRI infusion system

Contrast injector firm Medrad said it has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its Continuum MR-compatible infusion system, which can be used to administer intravenous medication to patients during imaging procedures.

Indianola, PA-based Medrad said the device can deliver up to three fluids into a single line, has free-flow protection, and uses minimal priming volumes. It can be positioned close to the patient in the scan room, eliminating the need to either suspend medication delivery during procedures or have patients connected to a pump outside the scanner room.
