Canadian computer-aided detection (CAD) software developer Medipattern of Toronto, Ontario, has unveiled a work-in-progress CAD software for breast magnetic resonance imaging applications at the 2005 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
The CAD for MRI package joins Medipattern's existing B-CAD for breast ultrasound product, and is based on the company's Cadenza CAD software platform. B-CAD for ultrasound is available as Cedara B-CAD through Cedara Software of Milwaukee, WI.
Medipattern's breast MRI CAD performs morphological feature analysis of suspicious lesions, and can be combined with standard kinetic analysis. According to the American College of Radiology's Breast Imaging MRI Lexicon, both morphological and kinetic data are required for optimal discrimination between benign and malignant MRI-detectable breast lesions, the company said.
