Image Engineering Laboratories of Avondale, PA, has launched a new device developed to improve the image quality of breast MRI studies.
The company's Sat Pad Breast Coil Kit is designed to improve the homogeneity of the local magnetic field, resulting in better image quality during pulsing MRI techniques such as chemical-shift fat saturation and gradient-echo imaging. The pad is filled with nonprotonated fluid that has a magnetic susceptibility similar to that of water-containing tissue.
Sat Pads are designed to be used with breast MRI coils validated for 7- and 8-channel coils available on all 1-, 1.5-, and 3-tesla MRI magnets.
