iCAD wins FDA nod for breast MRI software

Computer-aided detection (CAD) firm iCAD has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its interventional planning package for breast MRI, the Nashua, NH-based company said.

iCAD's PrecisionPoint module will be offered with the company's CADvue breast MRI image review software. PrecisionPoint helps users find exactly where a biopsy is needed without having to manually calculate the location and depth of the lesion, according to iCAD.
