Image-guided radiation therapy vendor ViewRay announced that the Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida has begun treating patients with its MR image-guided radiation therapy system, MRIdian Linac.
The installation makes Miami Cancer Institute the second institution in the U.S. to treat patients with the system and the only member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance in the southeastern U.S., ViewRay said.
Baptist Health South Florida is the largest healthcare organization in the region, with 10 hospitals, more than 40 physician practices, and 50 outpatient and urgent care facilities across Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, according to the firm.
