Zimbabwe commissions 1st diagnostic radiology center

The government of Zimbabwe has commissioned the country's first diagnostic radiology and MRI center in Harare.

For years, Zimbabwe hospitals have been sending patients to other countries for cases involving diagnostic radiology, according to a report by Bulawayo 24 News. The decision to open an imaging center in the country is expected to help ensure affordable, high-quality medical care for patients in Zimbabwe.

Dr. Dumisani Ndlovu and Dr. Ntokozo Ndlovu led this initiative and continue to advocate measures addressing the shortage of radiologists in Zimbabwe, Bulawayo noted. Currently, there are only 115 diagnostic radiologists in the country.
