Women's imaging vendor Hologic reported record fiscal second-quarter revenues of $69.2 million, up 24% compared with the $55.6 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-March 26), the Bedford, MA-based firm had record earnings of $6 million, compared with net income of $2.6 million in the 2004 fiscal second quarter.
Hologic attributed the earnings gains primarily to revenue increases in its mammography segment, although the vendor's bone densitometry unit also posted double-digit growth. The firm recorded a record 54 Selenia full-field digital mammography systems as revenue during the quarter.
