Aliso Viejo, CA-based BioLucent plans to exhibit its MammoPad breast cushion, a single-use foam cushion that covers the surfaces of mammography equipment for patient comfort. It will also feature its MammoPad Select program, a certification and outreach effort to breast centers to provide MammoPad to all women who receive mammograms.

2005 11 04 16 19 28 706In March, mammographer Ellen Everett-Massetti and colleagues presented research at the National Consortium of Breast Centers in Las Vegas that evaluated the effect MammoPad, combined with RT training with the radiolucent pad, would have on breast positioning. The results showed that not only did positioning improve, but women's experience during the scan did as well.
