Siemens gets Health Canada nod for tomo-only screening

Siemens Healthineers has received Health Canada approval for 3D-only screening mammography on its Mammomat Inspiration digital mammography system with tomosynthesis.

With the approval, the platform is now cleared in Canada as a standalone screening and diagnostic system, according to the vendor. The tomosynthesis option is available on Siemens' Mammomat Inspiration and Mammomat Inspiration Prime Edition systems.
