3D printing firm 3D Systems has signed an agreement with surgical oncology company Onkos Surgical to provide personalized surgical offerings for use in patients with tumors and lesions occurring in the pelvis and long bones associated with musculoskeletal cancers.
Under the four-year deal, Onkos will have priority access to 3D Systems' Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP) Orthopedic product line for surgical planning, as well as 3D-printed anatomical models, according to the vendors. In addition, Onkos and 3D Systems will collaborate on obtaining U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearances for next-generation 3D-printed implants and instruments for tumor reconstruction.
