RIS/PACS firm Guardian Technologies International reported that it has a new set of extended visualization imaging tools built on its 3i core imaging analysis engine.
The 3i technology is able to detect and distinguish different types of organic compounds contained in images from a wide array of sources, including x-ray, CT, and hyperspectral data types, according to the Herndon, VA-based vendor.
The firm said it believes a broad range of medical imaging modalities can benefit from the clarification capabilities of the 3i image processing algorithms, including CR, DR, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine.
In addition to its work on 3i technology, the company said it is developing CAD applications and is working on techniques to fuse information from multiple image sources, such as x-ray and ultrasound.
