Cerebrovascular imaging software developer iSchemaView has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its Rapid CTA advanced visualization software for CT angiography (CTA).
The latest addition to iSchemaView's neuroimaging software platform, Rapid CTA automatically generates CTA maps that include a colored overlay to identify brain regions with reduced blood vessel density, according to the vendor. A four-color scale then shows the severity of the reduced density. What's more, the software can provide a 3D reconstruction of the vasculature that physicians can use to rotate the image for optimal viewing of the vessels from multiple angles, iSchemaView said.
The software also supports remote viewing for physicians; image maps are immediately available for physicians to review on any desktop or mobile device, the company said. Rapid CTA can be used to support clinical decision-making, patient triage, collaboration between community hospitals and specialists, and appropriate patient transfers to specialty centers, according to iSchemaView.
