Carestream Health is ramping up production of mobile digital radiography (DR) systems to help healthcare providers manage patients during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Radiology providers are finding that mobile DR systems are useful tools for performing studies on individuals suspected of having COVID-19 disease. The units can be transported directly to bedside, reducing the need to move patients who may be infected, and are also easily disinfected. Also, facilities are coming up with creative ways to use mobile x-ray to keep radiology staff safe while still serving patients.

Image courtesy of Carestream.As a result, Carestream noted that its manufacturing facility for mobile x-ray systems is running at full capacity, with employees putting in long hours and extra days. The company said it has increased production of its DRX-Revolution and DRX-Revolution Mobile systems.
