The University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) has named Dr. Donna Plecha, a nationally recognized expert in breast imaging, as the chair of its radiology department.
Plecha, who was already serving as interim co-chair of the department, will remain responsible for the planning, growth, and operational management of the department's clinical activities and oversee resident teaching programs and research.
She has been a faculty member at the center since 1993 and is a professor of radiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Also, Plecha is the chief of breast imaging and co-medical director of UHCMC's breast centers.
Dr. Jeffrey Sunshine, PhD, who served as interim co-chair of the department since 2018, will now be the radiology department's executive vice chair, while also serving in his role as the medical center's chief medical information officer.
