Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, and full-field breast ultrasound (FFBU) developer U-Systems of Sunnyvale, CA, have entered into a partnership agreement.
Under terms of the deal, Siemens will provide the ultrasound engine of its Sonoline Antares ultrasound system for integration into U-Systems’ FFBU system. The combination of the Siemens’ beamformer integrated with U-Systems’ transducer and image display will produce standardized ultrasound images that can easily be correlated to mammography exams, Siemens said.
