Contrast and virtual colonoscopy provider E-Z-EM has expanded its roster of barium products for the study of swallowing disorders with the market introduction of Varibar Thin Honey.
Varibar Thin Honey provides speech-language pathologists with a target viscosity of 1500 centipose (cps), a midrange consistency to help better determine the precise threshold of a patient's ability to swallow, E-Z-EM said.
The product group also includes Varibar Thin Liquid (4 cps), Varibar Nectar (300 cps), Varibar Honey (3,000 cps), and Varibar Pudding (5,000 cps). The new contrast agents help eliminate several sources of uncertainty in the evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders, according to the Lake Success, NY-based firm.
