Ion Beam Applications (IBA), of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, has begun worldwide distribution of iodine-124 meta-iodobenzlguanidine (I-124 MIBG) through its U.S. subsidiary Eastern Isotopes in Sterling, VA.
The PET radiopharmaceutical I-124 MIBG currently is for investigational purposes. MIBG has been used for evaluating the cardiac symptomatic nervous system and the diagnosis, treatment planning, and radiotherapy of various neuroendocrine malignancies, according to IBA.
