Sales for contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals are expected to buck the worldwide recession and show better growth than radiology equipment.
Yearly growth rates for contrast agents used with most modalities will range from 5% to 11%, according to a new report from healthcare market research publisher Kalorama Information of New York City.
The study also noted that radiopharmaceuticals used as tracers in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging will experience annual growth in the range of 10% to 16%, adding to its $830 million global total in 2008.
