NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes has pledged to help the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) detect nuclear testing.
In signing the Radioxenon Emissions Pledge, NorthStar states that its production of molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) does not result in the emission of radioxenon, a radioactive gas.
Radioxenon is one of the products measured by CTBTO in its effort to detect nuclear testing. It may also be emitted during the peaceful production of radioisotopes used in medical diagnostic imaging.
NorthStar is one of six producers of medical radioisotopes to have signed the pledge.
