MR ancillary device provider Medrad has introduced Neurovascular (NV) Array, an MR surface coil designed to provide combined head-and-neck imaging quality comparable to a head-only coil, according to the Indianola, PA firm. As a result, there’s no longer a need to change coils in mid-procedure, according to Medrad.
In addition, NV Array’s quadrature phased-array technology also permits multiple applications, including magnetic resonance angiography and standard, gradient-echo, fast spin-echo, echo-planar, and spectroscopy pulse sequences of the brain and soft tissues of the head and neck, according to Medrad.
Additional product features include an open "bird cage" resonator design and mirrored reflector to reduce patient anxiety and claustrophobic reactions. A lightweight ergonomic structure enhances patient comfort, and a flexible anterior paddle accommodates a wide range of body types, according to the firm.
