GE Medical Systems reported third-quarter revenue growth of 16% and an operating profit increase of 13% compared with the same period last year. During the quarter (end-September 30), CT orders grew 40%, led by the Waukesha, WI-based vendor's LightSpeed Ultra scanner.
Open MRI orders, driven by demand for the firm's OpenSpeed and Ovation technologies, were up 51%, while PET scanner orders climbed 127%. GE Medical Systems Information Technologies reported a sales increase of 43%, and total GEMS software orders grew by 50%, according to the firm.
