Brigham and Women's to test Magna-Lab technology

Brigham and Women's Hospital will undertake a clinical study of Magna-Lab's Cardiac View probe and surface coil, according to Magna-Lab of Lynnfield, MA. The Brigham and Women's researchers will investigate the clinical utility of Magna-Lab's MRI coils in diagnosing heart disease.

The coils will be used clinically in patients receiving MRI studies to obtain anatomic information prior to catheter-based treatment of atrial fibrillation. In addition, the researchers plan to study patients who are undergoing transesophageal electrocardiography to assess the product's ease-of-use, as well as its comfort, tolerance, and diagnostic quality, according to Magna-Lab. The study team will also aim to image the coronary tree.
