The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) said it has increased its MRI Access Fund to help its members pay for MRI studies.
The fund currently assists MSAA members who have no medical insurance or cannot afford their insurance costs for cranial and c-spine MRI scans. With a new expansion of the program, qualified individuals can now receive two MRI scans per MRI Access Fund application, or they can receive reimbursement support for previous MRI scans, the MSAA said.
The reimbursement option requires applicants to apply to the fund, provide required documentation, and meet program eligibility requirements. All exams must be required by a physician to help determine a diagnosis of MS or to evaluate the current progression of MS disease, according to the association.
There are no funding caps on reimbursement amounts, and payments are made directly to the billing facility upon approval, the MSAA said.
