GE lands China equipment deal

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has signed a deal to supply medical equipment to a Chinese firm setting up a network of imaging centers in the country.

GE entered the relationship with Mingyuan Medicare Development, which is developing a network of medical and diagnostic centers in the People's Republic of China for "early health" services, according to Infocast News.

The centers would provide early screening for major diseases with the application of advanced biomedical servicing kits provided by Mingyuan and a combination of x-ray, digital mammography, CT, MR, and molecular imaging technologies provided by GE.

GE has more than 3,000 employees in China, according to the report.
