Rhinovirus
- Clinical:
Human rhinovirus is a major pathogen of respiratory infection detected in 18-26% of pediatric patients and 2-17% of adult patients with community acquired pneumonia [1]. There are three types of rhinovirus - A, B, and C- and the rates of infection and mortality do not differ significantly between the three types [1]. The infection is more common in immunocompromised patients [1]. Bacterial coinfection is not common (see in 18.5% of patients) [1].- X-ray:
With severe infection, there are bilateral patchy consolidations
with multifocal GGO and interlobular septal thickening [1].
