Blastomycosis:
The patient in the case below was immunosuppressed following chemotherpay for lymphoma. Blastomycosis infection is less commonly seen in immunosuppressed patients when compared to other fungal infections such as Aspergillis. The CXR revealed an area of consolidation in the right upper lobe. The CT scan demonstrated the consolidation to be cavitary and revealed no other lesions (caviatation is uncommon in cases of blastomycosis). There was no hilar or mediastinal adenopathy, and there was no associated pleural effusion.
